Fulton, Robert  (1765 – 1815)
American Engineer and Inventor. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He invented a submarine but couldn't generate any government interest in it. He eventually went on to design and build Steamboats. He also patented machines for sawing marble, spinning flax and for twisting hemp into rope.
