Key, Francis Scott  (1779 – 1843)
American Lawyer and Poet. Born in Frederick (now Carroll) Maryland. He wrote the poem Defence of Fort M'Henry which was later incorporated into a John Stafford Smith song called To Anacreon in Heaven and became known as The Star Spangled Banner.
