letter to Rev. Samuel Jarvis (December 23, 1814) Isaac Hull
5.5x11.5   4 page(s)

Long and extremely interesting letter written by the distinguished commodore during the last months of the War of 1812. The letter is in reply to his correspondent's request for Hull's aid in obtaining a naval commission for the former's son. The commodore's discouraging remarks in the connection reflect strikingly the grave condition of the affairs at the time and the acute discontent existing in New England.
