Rossini, Gioacchino Antonio  (1792 – 1868)
Italian Composer. Born in Pesaro, Italy. He was the leading representative of the bel canto school of opera in Paris. He wrote 39 operas as well as several string quartets, songs and piano pieces; his most famous work was The Barber of Seville opera (1816).
