Seton, Earnest Thompson  (1860 – 1946)
American Naturalist and Writer. He was born in South Shields, England and his original surname was Thompson. He founded the modern school of animal fiction writing with titles such as Bannertail: the Story of a Grey Squirel and Famous Animal Stories. He was also instrumental in the founding of the Boy Scouts of America and wrote the Boy Scout handbook.
