Tarkington, Newton Booth  (1869 – 1946)
American Novelist. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Wrote novels The Magnificent Ambersons (1918) (Pulitzer Prize for fiction 1919), Alice Adams (1921) (Pulitzer Prize for fiction 1922).
